Google Insights for Search rocks

Google Insights for Search

If you haven't yet tried Google Insights for Search, its well worth checking out as an SEO tool which gives you very good information about keyword popularity - It works in a slightly similar way to the Google PPC traffic estimator, except you are able to pull out some much more useful geographical and chronologically based measurables for searches done on the keywords you are targetting. Its even possible to anticipate searches in a particular holiday season, get a geographical spread or to search by category. You can figure out very quickly which search terms are worth something and which aren't, and find what related terms you ought to be targetting as well.

Google Insights for Search is still in the beta version, and if you haven't checked it out then do; http://www.google.com/insights/search/# - happy hunting

I use Google Insight and Google's adwords traffic and keyword tool, which shows volume and competition for each keyword as well.
