Google's summer PageRank update
OK so Google updated PageRank again yesterday, and although we all harp on about how PageRank doesn't matter all the time, we still all get a little excited by all the changes and by whose gone up or down both in terms of their PageRank scores and in the SERPS.
The fact is that although PageRank doesn't mean much technically and has a really negligible impact upon how a web site performs live in the SERPS, a move up the rankings does mean something. It carries a certain amount of status, clout, trust and gravitas which influences anyone who visits your website and happens to have the Google Toolbar or any other pluggin that comes with a PageRank. This no doubt influences shopping decisions, repeat visits and much else, so while PageRank might not impact upon your performance in the SERPS it certainly makes a difference to some of your visitors some of the time.

Stumble It!

I don't want PR to be important to me...but it is. I try to ignore it but yet my emotions rise and fall with the PR!
You said it Mastey, there's something about having a nice PR which gives youa warm fuzzy feeling. I guess SERPS are for thinking with your head and PR is for thinking with your heart.
I have to fully agree with you. Higher PR value is just something nice having, however SERPs ranking is what we really want.
