The Marketing Paradox
One of my favorite things about many of the marketing companies that I encounter in my day-to-day life is the blind spot they tend to have for the inconsistencies, paradoxes and deep irony inherent in their own marketing strategies.
Okay so, it pays to go for a range of marketing opportunities and strategies in order to see the best Return on Investment (ROI). However, when you see an email marketing company using cold calling to bring in new business, or an organic SEO company using Pay Per Click advertising, email marketing or cold calling, then it really begs a big question. If you are really so good at the form of marketing you sell, then why do you have to use a different type of marketing in order to get my attention?
Such inconsistency really does send out mixed messages to prospects. So, you're an SEO company that brings in its own business through cold calling, or a telephone marketing company that brings in its new business through email marketing - already I'm suspcious and my irony radar is beeping away like mad.
As a marketing company, if a marketing strategy works for you then include it in your portfolio of services so that you can give out a consistent message to prospects - stand by what you sell, and make sure the message is that this marketing strategy works for us and it works for our customers. Don't give out the message we sell one marketing strategy and use another.

Stumble It!
